Make a Difference Day– October 27th, 2007
Make a Difference Day is a national day of service devoted to helping others- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors.
For the 2007 “Make a Difference Day” we took on a collection drive of much needed supplies for the Calhoun Health Plan and the Humane Society. The main event which was held on Saturday October, 27th 2007 at Lakeview Square Mall.
Earlier, that same day we were able coordinate a free flu shot drive for chronic individuals in need. With the help of the community we were able to make at least a $6000 difference for three vital community agencies. The Humane Society, Calhoun Health Plan, and the Share Center are truly grateful for all who showed support in their cause and mission.
We at the Volunteer Center thank the community for allowing us to “Make a Difference” for the agencies that already give so much. We look forward to your help and contribution for the 2008 “Make a Difference Day”. To see more pictures from the 2007 event click here.
We are currently in the planning stages for the 2008 Make a Difference Day on October, 25th 2008.

2007 Make a Difference Day Above and Beyond! |

Harpers Make a Difference Day Challenge Sonoma Elementary, Wattle Park Elementary, and Beadle Lake Elementary worked extra hard for one full week to collect over 466 items for the Humane Society, for “Make a Difference” day! The Competition between the schools was fierce, but all the kids pulled together and truly make an impact on the lives of the animals at the Humane Society. Congratulations to Sonoma Elementary who earned the “Make a Difference Day” superstar trophy, collecting 201 items! The Volunteer Center of Battle Creek looks forward to collaborating with these schools next year when we tackle another Make a Difference Day project.
Wattles Park Family Practice Special thanks to the staff at Wattles Park for taking the time to administer flu shots for chronic individuals in need, for this years Make a Difference Day. Over 50 shots were donated and administered to individuals at the Share Center.
