“Transform a room at the Boys and Girls Club”

Text Box: We invite all agencies and organization and neighborhood groups to submit project ideas for the Community BarnRaising. We will complete four community projects a year, so please submit multiple ideas. Possible projects may include home repair, neighborhood cleanups, food and household goods collections, and mural painting projects. Please contact Nina Markos to discuss possible projects.

The Volunteer Center of Battle Creek is now seeking and accepting volunteers for its Community BarnRaising project. Community BarnRaising is a one time volunteer opportunity, whereby the community comes together at the same time, in the same place, to achieve a specific goal. On Saturday, August 2^nd the goal is to transform two rooms at the Boys and Girls Club located in Battle Creek.

The event will be held Saturday, August 2nd from 9:00 a.m. –Noon at the Boys and Girls Club located at 450 N. Washington Ave. The mission for the Boys and Girls Club is “to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens”.

Volunteers will assist in a variety of tasks, which will ultimately help transform two rooms at the Boys and Girls Club. The main energy will be spent on the music and game room. To volunteer for this event click here.

Volunteers will be supplied with a T-shirt and all other supplies. However, if you have any of the following supplies/equipment and would like to donate it to this project please call the Volunteer Center at 269-966-4189.

Wish List: music items/supplies, furniture, office supplies, arts and crafts, games, TV’s, computers, books, lawn equipment, and wall decorations.
